What your care makes possible

When life has fallen apart, the first kindness is a place to sleep. From there, everything else becomes more possible—making a call, keeping an appointment, thinking about tomorrow. Home First focuses on survivors of domestic violence, young adults who’ve aged out of foster care, and neighbors with no housing at all. We meet people right where they are, and we move—fast.

We also build bridges across Central Florida—partnering with law enforcement officers for immediate, trauma-informed deployment. Whether it’s removing someone from a dangerous scene or intervening before further harm occurs, our goal is safety without delay. These partnerships ensure that those already unhoused are not retraumatized, but protected with care and dignity.

We coordinate with family practice physicians, mental health professionals, dentists, optometrists, OB-GYNs, and more—so that healing includes the whole person, not just the crisis.

We work with grocery chains and nearby farms to provide fresh, nutritious food. Because healing begins with nourishment—and dignity.

And we walk beside each person, step by step, with case workers who help get IDs, secure documents, find jobs, and enroll in workforce development training. We don’t just offer help. We hold hands until someone feels safe enough to live again.

How we help (the first 72 hours and beyond)

Immediate Shelter: same-day safe nights and housing navigation that starts right away.
Keys in Reach: deposits, application fees, IDs, and transportation—clearing the hurdles that block the door.
Move-In Essentials: a real bed, fresh linens, kitchen basics, hygiene packs—comforts that say “you matter.”
Whole-Person Healing: trauma-informed coordination with trusted responders and medical professionals to restore safety, health, and hope.
Steady Follow-Through: check-ins and practical support so the first night becomes a new chapter.

Donated items are placed directly into homes. We do not resell donations.
